We’re going Skydiving at Skydive Dallas… Wanna Go With Us?

I first mentioned this adventure last September in the post You’ll Be Seeing Less of Me In The Next Couple of Months – Accountability May Be Needed!!!

Skydive Dallas is located in Whitewright, TX and is the premier skydiving center in North Texas. We are going to jump tandem and are scheduled for Saturday March 22nd at 11:00 am.

There are a few requirements that must be met in order to jump:

• You must be at least 18 years of age to skydive . Skydive Dallas requires you to bring a valid photo ID with you on the day of the jump. No ID, no jump. No exceptions
• You must weigh less than 220 lbs for a Tandem Skydive. There is a $20 additional charge for tandem students over 200 pounds.
• You must weigh less than 220 lbs for a Solo First Jump
• Although skydivers are a fun-loving community, safety is always our first concern. For this reason, Skydive Dallas cannot allow anyone to skydive who has any alcohol or other judgment-clouding medications in their system.
• For safety reasons Skydive Dallas does not allow you to jump in sandals, boots, or shoes with heels. Wear a pair of sneakers or sport shoes
• Although this isn’t a requirement per se, Skydive Dallas strongly suggests that you wear comfortable clothing appropriate for the current weather conditions. Keep in mind that it can be quite a bit colder at 13,500 feet than it is at Ground Level!

You have three packages to choose from:

The Basic Package – $229

The Basic Tandem Package includes anything and everything you need to take the ride of your life, impress your friends, and put a smile on your face–and a spring in your step–that will last for days.

The Basic Package includes:

• Classroom Instruction
• Gear rental (parachute, jumpsuit, altimeter, helmet, goggles)
• Instructor fees
• Lift ticket to 13,500 feet
• Tandem Skydive
• Parachute Packing Service
• First Jump Certificate
• Skydiver’s Logbook

The Premium Package – $329

If you want the opportunity to relive your skydiving experience again and again, and to share that experience with your friends and family, you can add a video recording and still photographs to the Basic Package. An experienced videographer will join your skydiving team in order to capture all the excitement of your ground preparations, the ride to altitude, the freefall itself, and even your canopy deployment and landing. After the jump, these materials will be professionally edited, set to music, and transferred to DVD by the time you’re ready to head home. They’ll also post the freefall portion of your video on our website so that friends and family from around the world can share in the excitement of your Tandem Skydive. Be the star of your own movie! You’ll be glad you captured this Once-in-a-Lifetime experience on video.

V.I.P Tandem – $409

You’ll definitely feel like a Very Important Person with this first-class package! This is their top-of-the-line, Blue Ribbon experience. As a Skydive Dallas V.I.P. skydivers, you will skip to the front of the line with priority manifesting and will get personalized, one-on-one training from your very own Tandem Instructor, who will walk you through the complete skydiving experience from Start to Finish. When you’re done with ground instruction, you’ll gear up and go straight to the airplane. No waiting. No fuss. No muss. Upon landing, Skydive Dallas will serve you champagne and present you with a framed First Jump Certificate to proclaim your achievement to the world.

The typical jump altitude is 13,500 feet (more than two and a half miles). Occasionally, high-altitude cloud cover or Air Traffic Control will force jumps from a lower altitude but all students will get at least a 10,000 foot thrill ride!!!
