NNO-2012-logoTexas celebrated the 29th annual National Night Out on October 2, 2012.

The City of Sachse encouraged neighborhoods to gather together in an effort to:

  • Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
  • Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs;
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
  • Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Sachse City OfficialsProclamationThis year there were fourteen National Night Out parties in the City of Sachse. The Mayor, City Manager, Police Chief, and members of the City Council attempted to attend the parties but with so many neighborhood events this year they were unable to make it to all of them before some of them broke up.

Sachse City Councilman Bill Adams came by the party in The Meadows earlier in the evening, enjoyed a burger, and spent considerable time visiting with the neighbors and answering questions about various projects going on in city, planned economic development, as well as future economic development plans.

National Night Out provided an opportunity to meet neighbors and begin to build relationships that will strengthen our neighborhood. Using Nextdoor.com, a private neighborhood network, The Meadows started a community website where neighbors can share contact information, discuss community issues, and create online groups around any areas of interest.

Woodbridge NeighborsWe are looking forward to hanging out with each other some more. National Night Out was a good start, to some great relationships, with some great people. We’ll definitely do National Night Out again next year but we won’t be waiting for it to roll around again before spending more time together… We would love for you to join us.
