Why would I need a CPA?
Certified Public Accountants (CPA’s) are licensed by the state and are usually employed to do bookkeeping, financial planning, and the preparation of financial documents like tax returns.
A good CPA can also help you understand and comply with a multitude of changing tax laws and help you decide when you should… or shouldn’t… take certain deductions that could trigger an audit. They will then prepare a tax return that reduces your tax liability while still complying with the laws.
If you are audited, a CPA’s can also represent you if the IRS has questions about your tax return.
Everyone’s tax situation is different, so, even if you’ve always done your taxes yourself, you may want to hire a CPA if your tax situation changes or becomes complex.
