Certified Public Accountants (CPA’s) are licensed by the state and are usually employed to do bookkeeping, financial planning, and the preparation of financial documents like tax returns.

A good CPA can also help you understand and comply with a multitude of changing tax laws and help you decide when you should… or shouldn’t… take certain deductions that could trigger an audit. They will then prepare a tax return that reduces your tax liability while still complying with the laws.

If you are audited, a CPA’s can also represent you if the IRS has questions about your tax return.
